“As a professional artist rooted in both the art and design fields I seek to inform my visual practice with multi disciplinary knowledge. My body of work consists of paintings and small experimental sculptures. I work in many mediums but particularly enjoy working in oils and cold wax. I love the process of making art. My paintings are colorful abstracted landscapes rooted in New England. I seek to paint my emotional and sensorial experiences. These experiences in nature influence my textures and color palette, of which are used both symbolically and psychologically to further enhance the artworks’ emotional stance. My studio practice is deeply informed by my Plein air work. I employ it as my way of getting to know a place’s color, light, texture, topography, smell, and atmosphere. It’s a process of falling in love with the place!”
