Bonnie Mineo
Nature is my inspiration and my work includes birds, seaweed, octopus and random stuff left behind by the tide. My current series explores the fragile shapes and unusual colors of seaweed. The relief prints combine layers of shapes and textures with many different carved and cut plates making each print unique.
I love to travel and observe the details in the environment which led to an encounter with a curious raven on a Colorado River trip. A series of bird paintings developed including ravens, kestrels and California condors.
Workshops in Relief Printmaking and Collage & Mixed Media that I teach in my Fort Point studio have returned. My classes are hands-on in small groups and we create a series of works on paper in a collaborative environment.
My background includes a career in graphic design for over 20 years and a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
