Meredith Gisness

“I look to the world around me to discover it’s beauties in the details. Whether it is through the lens of my camera, a quiet paddle across the pond or letting ephemera pass through my fingers; my delight is found in the shapes, textures, colors, marks, and sounds of my experience. I incorporate these inspirations to dive into the layers of painting, collage, image transfer to weave together the stories that I want to tell and the unexpected stories that appear. I work with a multiple of mediums to create the layers of expression from collage, painting and photography to digital abstracts; sometimes combining them all.

I studied oil painting, drawing and fiber arts at Skidmore College.  I have recently studied painting with Jane Davies, Bernd Haussman and Kathryn Field, Nicholas Wilton, Ellen Rolli.”
